Refund, Return and Cancellation Policy

Effective date: 12 October 2026

This Refund, Return and Cancellation Policy applies to purchases made through Sipdora Online, including classes, courses, subscriptions, digital files, teacher services and physical marketplace products. It should be read with our Terms and Conditions. Nothing in this policy limits a remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under Sri Lankan consumer law.

1. Business and contact details

Sipdora Online is owned and operated by V P A I Dewinda Pathirana, No. 50A, Koswatta, Akuramboda, Matale, Sri Lanka. Refund and order requests should be sent to [email protected] or made by telephone on +94 77 015 3568.

2. Before purchasing

Please review the description, teacher or seller, learning format, schedule, access period, delivery information, price, billing term and total payable before confirming an order. A monthly class payment applies only to the class and month or payment term shown in the order. Paying for one month does not automatically unlock a different unpaid month.

3. Cancelling before approval, access or dispatch

You may request cancellation before digital access or enrolment is granted, before the relevant class term begins, or before a physical product is dispatched. Contact us promptly with the order reference. Where a bank transfer has been submitted for review, cancellation can be processed only after the transfer is identified and the funds are confirmed as received.

A payment slip or reference does not itself activate access. If no cleared funds were received, there is no amount to refund.

4. Digital classes, courses and subscriptions

Change of mind

A change-of-mind request must be made within 7 calendar days of purchase. A refund may be approved only if the relevant class or service has not started and the user has not accessed or downloaded lessons, recordings, live sessions, files, assessments or other paid content. Once digital content has been supplied or accessed, or a scheduled class term has started, a change-of-mind refund is generally unavailable except where required by law.

Service problems

A full or proportionate refund, replacement access or another appropriate remedy will be considered where:

  • the same order or payment term was charged twice;
  • cleared payment was verified but the purchased access was not provided;
  • a class, course or service was cancelled and no reasonable replacement was accepted;
  • the service was materially different from its published description;
  • a significant Sipdora technical failure prevented meaningful access and could not be corrected within a reasonable period; or
  • a refund or other remedy is required by applicable law.

Choosing not to attend an available class, failing to complete a course, forgetting to use access, a change in personal schedule, or an issue with the user’s own device or internet connection does not by itself create a right to a refund.

Renewals

Cancelling automatic renewal stops future billing when the request is processed before the next charge. It does not automatically refund the current paid term. A separate manual payment requested for each class month is not an automatic subscription. An incorrect or unauthorised renewal should be reported immediately.

5. Physical products

Damaged, defective, incorrect or materially misdescribed goods

Inspect a physical product promptly after delivery. Contact us within 7 calendar days after delivery if it is damaged, defective, incorrect or materially different from the listing. For transit damage or a visibly incorrect package, contact us within 48 hours where reasonably possible and provide clear photographs of the product, packaging and delivery label. A short inspection period does not remove any longer statutory remedy that applies.

After verification, the seller or Sipdora will arrange an appropriate repair, replacement, refund or other remedy. Reasonable return delivery costs for a verified seller error, defect or transit damage will be borne by the responsible seller or reimbursed as agreed.

Change-of-mind returns

A request to return an eligible physical product for change of mind must be made within 7 calendar days after delivery. The product must be unused, unaltered, complete, in resalable condition and returned with its original packaging, accessories and proof of purchase. Approval is required before sending the product. Unless the listing or seller states otherwise, the customer bears change-of-mind return delivery costs and remains responsible for the product until received.

Products normally excluded from change-of-mind return

Subject to mandatory legal rights, change-of-mind returns are not available for:

  • digital downloads, activation codes or software after delivery or access;
  • personalised, made-to-order or customised products;
  • sealed goods opened after delivery where hygiene, health or copyright protection reasonably prevents resale;
  • perishable or time-sensitive goods; or
  • products damaged through misuse, unauthorised modification or failure to follow supplied instructions.

These exclusions do not apply where the product is defective, unsafe, incorrect or materially misdescribed.

6. Non-delivery and delivery delay

If a physical order is not delivered by the stated date or within a reasonable period, contact us so the seller and carrier can investigate. Where delivery cannot be completed within a reasonable additional period and the customer is not responsible for the failure, the customer may cancel and receive an appropriate refund. Re-delivery costs caused by an incorrect address or repeated unavailable delivery may be charged where clearly communicated.

7. Teacher or seller cancellations

If a teacher or seller cannot provide a purchased service or product, the customer will be offered a reasonable replacement, rescheduled service, credit or refund as appropriate. A replacement or credit will not be imposed where a refund is legally required.

8. How to request a cancellation, return or refund

Email [email protected] and include:

  • the purchaser’s name and account email;
  • the order or transaction reference;
  • the class, course, subscription or product concerned;
  • the relevant class month or delivery date;
  • the reason for the request; and
  • proof of payment and photographs or other reasonable evidence where relevant.

Do not send a password, one-time password, complete card number or card security code. We may request reasonable additional information to verify identity, payment, product condition or eligibility.

9. Review and processing times

We aim to acknowledge a complete request within 3 business days. Complex cases involving a teacher, seller, carrier, bank or payment provider may require additional investigation, and we will provide an update.

An approved refund is normally issued to the original payment method. Where that is not technically possible, a bank-transfer refund may require verified account information belonging to the payer or lawful recipient. Sipdora aims to initiate an approved refund within 10 business days after approval or, for a returned physical product, after the product is received and inspected. A bank or payment provider may take additional time to credit the account.

Delivery charges are refunded when the entire order is cancelled because of seller fault, non-delivery, defect or another legal requirement. Original delivery charges are generally not refunded for an approved change-of-mind return unless the seller agrees otherwise.

10. Rejected or reversed requests

If a request is not approved, we will provide the main reason and any available next step. Fraudulent, altered or misleading evidence may result in account restriction and lawful reporting. A customer may provide additional relevant information for review.

11. Complaints and legal rights

If you disagree with the outcome, reply to the decision email or write to the address above and request further review by Sipdora Online. Consumers may also seek assistance from the Consumer Affairs Authority of Sri Lanka or use another remedy available under law. This policy does not exclude statutory guarantees, rights or remedies.
